With a quarter of a century of 4×4 engineering experience under his cambelt, mechanic Ian Whitehair decided to go it alone and set up his own garage. He had a conservative budget and an exceptional local reputation to play with. Coming to Voice by recommendation, he had a simple brief: get me noticed and keep me noticed.
Voice designed a logo based on car badge iconography and established a fresh look and feel to be consistently applied across all his marketing and stationery including business cards and letterheads. As there were no assets for the website, we organised a photo shoot, placing the emphasis not just on the engineering, but also the engineer. Though Ian was reluctant to be centre stage, we felt his reputation was a key asset, so his top service and big personality should be highlighted.
Voice built a simple site, powerfully optimised for SEO, with strong photography and clear messaging. This was backed by monthly full page advertising in a local magazine with a demographic that had proven purchasing power.
The result: within two years, Ian Whitehair has become established as the region’s go-to mechanic for 4×4 and Land Rover repairs, with the business getting regular enquiries via the site and the advertising. Job done.
