With products that are familiar to beer lovers across the country, and household names in the South West, St Austell Brewery is one of our biggest clients to date. They came to us in need of a new website for their online shop, as their current one lacked optimisation for mobile users. Given that we’re regularly seeing mobile visits to websites account for 50% of all traffic, it was vital that they got a new mobile-responsive site in place, that would allow visitors to easily make purchases on phones and tablets.
Voice Group were tasked with rebuilding the website in WordPress, and ensuring the site was responsive: that it could resize its elements depending on the size of the screen the user visits the site on, without losing any functionality. The deadline was tight: we had to make sure the site was up and taking orders ready for the all-important Black Friday, and run-in to Christmas. With direction from St Austell Brewery’s Online Marketing Manager, we designed and built a fully functional shopfront in the space of two months, using existing WordPress themes and with shop functionality from WordPress’ ecommerce software, WooCommerce. The new site contains roughly 80 unique products, each with its own SEO-optimised product page – written with input from SEO specialists, Niddocks. On top of the product pages, we designed a stylish new homepage, and product category pages, each with full copywriting and calls to action.
